Last Day Of The Year... Front Page of ETSY...
Front Page of ETSY....
That's a fun announcement for the last day of the year...
I really didn't have any other great visuals to share so this came just in the nick of time...
Too tired to do a year in review... But...
The year had... well... a lot of great times rolled up in it...
Then there were some not as great times but...
I am quite pleased to have 2009 waiting in the wings and I am very thankful for all that I have.
The Love, The Opportunities, The Present.
I'm one lucky girl.
Thanks for your support.
It has meant a lot....

Better than Pottery...
I am plugging away with listing, selling, shipping, making holiday cards(why oh why???), last possible firings, wrapping, packing(Whistler here we come...) and
I can'tt hink of anything I've(we've) "made" batter than these two...
Totally different from each other yet remarkably similar... smart as well as smart-alecks, artists in their own right, adventurers as well , a skier and and boarder, fric and frac .
Our boys....
In case I forget....
Have the most very happy holidays!!!!

50 listings on ETSY....
Well... I have been trying to raise the number of listings I have on ETSY.
I hear 100 is a good "lucky" number... but...not there yet... and so it goes... Not complaining...but when they sell... you need to list something else...
I am on the last 3 pages of THE DIVIDED HEART and I have to say...It is a great book...at least for me ...and any artist or writer or actor or dancer or frankly anyone who has a passion/drive to their work who is a mother(although an involved father may understand too...)

100 Teapots at Baltimore Clayworks
I can't believe it...
It was probably a fluke that I got accepted....
But I'll take it!
I have no idea if one or both got in but these are the 2 that I submitted...
I've never entered one of these competitions so I am indeed happy to have the opportunity to display along side these fabulous artists...

Statement:
The teapot is the quintessential ceramic enterprise. It is an aspiration to the novice, and a source of inspiration and consternation to the experienced clayworker. It represents the classic culmination techniques and skills acquired during the education of the potter. It required a finely tuned sense of scale and proportion in combining all of the diverse parts into a organic whole, much the same as a newborn child that is scaled down but in perfect proportion. The teapot has fascinated and inspired artists for centuries as a vehicle capable of having meaning and purpose beyond its ability to dispense a certain volume of liquid. It has been used to represent every noble and debased quality of humankind. It has been used to record our observations and enchantment with Nature in her myriad forms. Because of the history and continued fascination with this particular utilitarian form, the expectation for this exhibition is a display of a diverse and experimental interpretation of this classic form. From the conventional to the strange.
But however experimental, one aspect of the teapot must be acknowledged: IT MUST POUR!!!!! For if it doesn't it is not a teapot but a teapot-like object. Some find this as a severe limitation in creative design; while others will if it a challenge. I hope many will rise to the challenge.
